Psi Binary Packages for Mandriva Linux
Quick Install Instructions

Types of Packages in Package Sets
Each set of packages are split into the following groups:
- Psi Base
- Contains Psi without any additional add-ons. Could also contain supporting libraries
depending on the Mandriva distribution.
- Translations
- Contains packages that allow Psi to be be displayed in different languages.
- Emoticons
- Contains packages that add additional icons that can be used in messages.
- Roster Icons
- Contains packages that add additional icons for displaying the connection status of
contacts.
- System Icons
- Contains packages that add additional icons for the user interface.
Detailed Install Instructions
Follow these instructions to install Psi:
- Make sure you have setup
the Main Distribution Urpmi medium.
- Launch the Software Media Manager application, found
in the launch menu under System/Configuration/Packaging.
- From the Software Media Manager application, add a custom medium
named Psi, with the appropriate Urpmi media path
URL, found from the Package Sets section.
An example of a configuration for Psi on Mandriva Linux 2006.0 is:

- Close the Software Media Manager application.
- Launch the Install Software application, found
in the launch menu under System/Configuration/Packaging.
- From the Install Software application, select the option
All packages, by medium repository. Next, expand the
Psi medium, and select the packages you want to have installed.
Note that in order to use SSL connections in Psi you need to install
the libqca-tls package.
- Finally, press the Install button in the
Install Software application. With a little luck, Psi will
be downloaded and installed on your computer.
- Launch Psi by navigating through the launch menu to
Internet/Instant Messaging and selecting Psi.
Note that it make take a few minutes for the menu system to update
and create an icon in your launch menu. Occasionally, you will need
to re-login to get your menu updated.
